Last updated: 9 June 2026
§ 1 Provider and Scope
These Terms of Service govern the use of the mobile application Halal Spots (iOS and Android) and the associated website halal-spots.de (collectively: "App" or "Service").
Provider: Mohammed Shehbaz Khan, Basselweg 92b, 22527 Hamburg.
Email: hello@halal-spots.de
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
§ 2 Service Description
Halal Spots is a free information service helping Muslims in Germany discover halal restaurants, mosques, shops, and community events nearby. Core features include map-based search, favourites, prayer times (informational only), and spot sharing.
Spot information is based on user-submitted and editorially reviewed content. The provider does not guarantee completeness, accuracy, or currency of listings (see § 7).
§ 3 Account and Registration
Some features require a registered account. You agree to provide accurate information, not to share your account, and to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
You may permanently delete your account at any time via Profile → Delete Account. All personal data will be fully removed (Art. 17 GDPR). This action cannot be undone.
§ 4 Intellectual Property and Usage Rights
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence for personal, non-commercial use of the App.
The following is prohibited:
- Decompiling, reverse-engineering, or attempting to extract source code or technical infrastructure (including API endpoints and access keys).
- Commercial use, redistribution, or sublicensing of the App or its content, in particular editorially curated spot data (halal attributes, certification information, opening hours, contact details).
- Automated data extraction (scraping, crawling) or systematic querying of the application programming interfaces (API) without prior written consent.
- Building a separate database or service using data obtained from the App or its associated interfaces.
- Distributing content that is unlawful, offensive, discriminatory, or misleading.
The collection of spot information contained in the App is protected as a database under §§ 87a ff. UrhG (German Database Producer’s Right, implementing Directive 96/9/EC). Extraction and/or re-utilisation of substantial parts of this database without prior written consent of the provider is prohibited.
§ 5 User Obligations
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes, not to upload content that infringes third-party rights, not to submit false reviews or information, and not to spread spam or malicious code.
The provider reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for violations without prior notice.
§ 6 Service Availability
We strive for uninterrupted availability but make no guarantee of a specific uptime. Maintenance, technical issues, or force majeure may cause temporary interruptions. The provider may modify, restrict, or discontinue features at any time.
§ 7 Disclaimer of Liability
Spot information: Details about halal status, opening hours, and addresses may be incomplete or outdated. We accept no liability for the accuracy of halal certifications. When in doubt, contact the spot directly.
Limitation of liability: Liability is limited to intentional or grossly negligent conduct, or to breach of a material contractual obligation, and in any case only to foreseeable, typical damages. Liability for indirect damage, loss of profit, or data loss is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
Prayer times: Displayed times are indicative only and may differ from those at individual mosques.
§ 8 Privacy
Data processing is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
§ 9 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. We will notify you via in-app notice or email at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use after that period constitutes acceptance.
§ 10 Term and Termination
This agreement is for an indefinite term. You may terminate at any time by deleting your account and uninstalling the App. We may terminate on 30 days’ notice, or immediately for cause.
§ 11 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Hamburg is the exclusive place of jurisdiction for commercial users.
