Frequently asked questions
What you should know about Halal Spots
- When does Halal Spots launch?
- We're preparing the beta launch on TestFlight (iOS) and Google Play (Android). Sign up for the beta list above and you'll get an invite as soon as it goes live — we're aiming for the coming weeks.
- Which cities is Halal Spots available in?
- We're starting in Hamburg. Berlin and Munich are planned next. We'll let you know as soon as we're live in your city.
- Is Halal Spots free?
- Yes. The core access — finding halal spots, filters, the map, and live prayer times — is and will remain free. If we add optional premium features later, they won't affect the basics, which always stay free.
- How is halal certification verified?
- Halal Spots is a platform that makes information visible — we are not a certification body. We display what each restaurant, mosque, or shop provides to us: uploaded halal certificates (where available), supplier details, notes on the kitchen and facilities. This saves you the call or visit — the info you'd normally get directly from the business is right in the app. Responsibility for halal compliance lies with each establishment; for any doubts we recommend speaking directly to the business. We believe in informed choices — the decision of which spot to visit ultimately stays with you, based on the information you have transparently in front of you.
- Which devices does Halal Spots run on?
- Halal Spots is a native app for iPhone (iOS) and Android. We're starting with TestFlight for iOS and Google Play Beta for Android.
